San Rafael to review options for shift to district elections

San Rafael officials, facing threat of a potential multimillion dollar lawsuit compelling them to switch to district elections, said this week they will take up the issue again at the next City Council meeting.

San Rafael may be the next target of a legal challenge demanding the city switch from at-large elections for City Council seats to district elections in order to avoid what the potential challenger calls “racially polarized voting.”
